What I do is about telling stories. And the easiest way to understand how that works is to tell you my story.
When I was 10 years old, I saw Pretty Woman for the first time and immediately fell in love with Julia Roberts. Head over heels is an understatement. I started making scrapbooks with photos and articles featuring her. I collected all of her movies (on VHS, real old school) and jumped at every opportunity to discuss her acting, her hair or her boyfriends. I was the original fangirl.
When I was 17 years old, I started my first website, what a few years later became AboutJulia.Com. This fansite, dedicated to Julia Roberts, now stands a record of 14 years online and is the largest and longest running Julia Roberts website out there.
My dedication to a movie star is the reason I learned how to make websites. The reason I started what was to become a big fan community and learned how to effectlvly communicate with fans, press and companies all over the world. The reason I discovered the internet and all the wonderful opportunities it has given me. The reason I have the career I have today. It may seem like a trivial reason, but it’s my reason. And it got me here. Dedication, admiration and inspiration.
That is my story, the story of La Linda PR, from where it really started. Of course, there is so much more to the love and passion I have for what I do, but this is the history and the core of it. It all comes back to passion. To inspiration.
We all have a story. Maybe similar to mine but probably very different. And content marketing is about taking that story and telling it, packaging it, in a way that will make your followers and customers feel engaged and as if they are, or want to be, a part of what you’ve created. That is the core to storytelling.
Now. Tell me your story.
